Pointless Breakup Song – Short Attention

Talk about your supergroups. The great thing about Short Attention obviously is their concept/gimmick, and also some revelations that result from writing 17 second long pop songs. That their songs are just sketches of what could be longer songs without ever aspiring to be anything more, that they hold everything essential within those 17 seconds, that the lyrics naturally become single streams of conscious things, pared down to the imperative, saying all that needs to be said, direct, without argument or impression of doubt – all this forms such a fine pronouncement of all pop music, and is something so great. Not Minutemen or Anthem For a New Tomorrow great, but good nonetheless.
