Are Mocca the biggest band to ever come from Indonesia? For some reason they are incredibly huge in South Korea. They’re huge all over Asia, but particularly so in Korea. It is probably a case of me being exposed more to the Korean things they appear on. Their songs are all over movie, drama and variety show soundtracks, the majority of live footage of them is filmed in Korea. My girlfriend’s school even uses one of their songs on their website. Their music is very likeable, very safe, very suited to be found where it is. And they are very good. They bring a lot of joy – nothing but – and that is why they are so loved. I like the softer, dreamier indie pop side of Mocca than this show jazz side, but what i like is no indication of what is popular, or should be popular.
