I’m attributing this to the right George Clinton thing, aren’t i? I never can tell. I woke up on someone’s floor this morning for the first time in so long. I’m just explaining why this is so late an entry. I wish so much i had this excuse more often. I wish so much my days’ openings weren’t all concerned with the writing of this thing. I wish so much to not be forever here. I’m far too much of a homebody.

Give Up The Funk

Give Up The Funk (Tear The Roof Off The Sucker) – Parliament

There are a few things that set this beyond me, in that outer space. Not in impression or how much i like it, just in other ways. Briefly, there’s an expanse of vision here that i just don’t have, drug-enabled or otherwise. And secondly, this is not my music. It is not my experience, it was not really meant for me. I have no ticket for the mothership. Even though everyone is welcome, i’ll gladly give up my seat if needed. I still love and am amazed by it, and it’s no cult secret. There will always be this distance though.
