Stange powers – The Magnetic Fields
Again! It’s like that that Wedding Present week or two all over again. At least – and this is not to diminish the Wedding Present and their effect in anyway – there is more to say about the Magnetic Fields, i feel. Sound, feeling, concept, worlds opening up, honesty, dishonesty, amaze, exaltation – there’s enough there to keep me going for i don’t know how many mornings more. But let’s hope i don’t have to test it.
Strange Powers is also the title of a, by me, warily but still highly anticipated documentary about Stephin Merritt that as yet, and maybe as forever, has no plan of an Australian distribution. Ho hum. DVD.
